We were introduced to this park almost half decade ago. We had a wonderful experience at the park with our buddies. Ever since then, we tried to visit the park especially during the fall / winter time when the leaves are changing colors and the weather is nice (or chilly).
After few weekends of rains with no fun, finally the sun is out and about with nice temperature for this weekend. I reckon the view would be nice at this time at the park since we had some late cold weather lately (this year is pretty hot and warm at this time around), the leaves should be in the process of changing color. I love when there are mixtures of leaves colors!
There is a $7 entrance fee per adult. Child 12 years and under is free. We met up with our friends at the Creekfield Lake parking lot. Weather was nice, a little sunny but is all good.
Kids started running. Adult started chasing. But look at the view! Camera out!

At Creekfield Lake nature trail, there are accessible broad walk (perfect for stroller) and multiple observation decks to check out wildlife. We saw turtles, fishes, ducks, bids, alligators and many more. This trail is pretty child and family friendly.

After the nature trail, we stopped by at the interpretive center for some exhibits and alligator petting. Do you know the difference between an alligator and a crocodile? Gege and didi curiously observed and petted the 4 months old baby alligator.
Right before we left, I grabbed a park map for gege as he has been showing me the Houston zoo map that he kept during previous zoo visit. I thought gege and I are going to have some fun exploring the map at home. And we did and I learned so much more!
Little did I know that the park is much larger than the area we usually visited. There are Elm Lake Wildlife viewing platform best for panoramic view at Elm lake, observation tower for sunset and sunrise, astronomical observatory (who love stars?), camp sides, and many more! We definitely need to plan a longer day visit or even camp over night next time around!
