Hello Everyone! Spring is here, and almost over

This is one overdue blog as our family is adjusting to a new routine lifestyle. We have not been travelling as gege has used up the maximum allowed of unexcused absences based on the truancy law, and we are unable to take additional days off. We have used it last year for our Australia trip!

Happy Chinese New Year to those of you who celebrates and Happy 2018 to all of you, wherever you are.

Three months into the New Year and Spring break just swung by. We decided to take a short road-trip to San Antonio, TX once again! Sea World is the driving force of this trip as didi is much older now and after this trip, it would probably be for another while before we revisit.

Can’t say you visited San Antonio without a stop at the Riverwalk. We took a nice stroll after dinner to end our day. The weather is a little unpredictable as it was a little warm in the morning but chilly at night.

San Antonio Sea World
The kids enjoyed the rides more than the shows. Now, didi is able to ride on most of the rides together with his big brother. Didi really enjoyed the "One Ocean" Shamu show; after the show, he didn’t want to leave, he wanted to stay to see the whale. He even asked daddy to walk him down to see the whale in closer view.

It was funny that we thought didi maybe scare of this ride due to its height and drop, but turns out that it bored him. He was ready for more adventurous ride. Ha!

Each got their own trophy, kind of (we won it for them). They were super excited with their new super stuff shark/hero.

Next stop Austin!

We stopped by Salt Lick BBQ on the way to our destination in Austin. Got to say, it wasn't as great as it used to be. Maybe we were missing the friends factor. In our memory, the best part of this place was having drinks and chit chat with our friends.

Mayfield Park, Austin, TX
This peacock park is a must visit for us, we visit it each time we are in Austin. The closest peacock encounters you could get and is Free! The weather is awesome and flowers were blossoming.

Zilker Park Boat Rentals
This is a place where you could kayak or canoe with an hourly rental rate of $18/hr. It is a fun experience. We have done this few times before but this time we witnessed someone flipped his canoe, which freaked mommy out, and in return freaked everyone out.. So, we didn’t spend too long in the water. Daddy did fully utilize its time in experiencing a single kayak himself. Reminder. Swimming is a necessary life skill.

Texas State Capitol
Before heading back home, we stopped at the Capitol building. Discovered new area where it connects by underground tunnel to where all the offices, cafeteria and other stuff are located at. It is much bigger than it looks.

We didn't get a memo that it was a goofy face trip..

  1. Ya, when they getting older, you can only travel during school holiday... luckily you all travel a lot before that.
