Corpus Christi Trip with Children

It's about time to give some update to this blog. It has been a long 3 months, I mean LONG. We went to Malaysia in February for about 2 weeks and a week after we came back, daddy flew back once again for a week due to family emergency. For that, we did not get back to our routine until March. Last month, we took the boys to a short road trip to Corpus Christi with our friends. It was a very short trip, 2 days, 1 night. The journey was a little over 3 hrs. 3 hours is short, but not for 1 & 3 years old. The purpose of the trip was to visit the Texas State Aquarium. The museum is smaller than we thought so a little disappointment there. Overall, it was a pleasant trip for toddlers as the place is not too big and yet keeps them wondering.




After the aquarium we went to the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center. This is a pretty garden worth a visit if you adore nature and flowers.



Day 2 - After breakfast, we went to USS Lexington for a museum tour. We spent a good 3 to 4 hours there. That ship is HUGE! We could've easily spent longer than 4 hours there, but the kids were worn out from walking up and down the ship.



After the museum tour, we had our lunch and the boys nap in the car while we drove to Padre Island National Seashore. Because the weather was chilly and wet, they played with sand for about an hour by the beach. Both days, we had dinner at Snoppy's Pier. We went there in hope to spot the sunset while having dinner. The food is so so, but the view is fantastic. Here is a picture that we captured on day 1 while having dinner there.



This is a special trip for us as we utilized our very first rewards night with IHG reward points. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Portland with 15,000 points. To my surprised, we were offered 500 welcome points or free bottles of water with nuts.
