Tampa Children's Museum has the best location in town, situated in downtown, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park & the Tampa riverwalk. You could park at their parking garage with a very small fees, unlike others that charge a ridiculous amount for the parking garage. We didn't realized the parking garage was available for visitors use after we parked on the street.

View from the second level of the museum. Tampa University is right across. According to the worker at the Children's Museum, the university was originally built as a hotel. Beautiful infrastructure.

Boys having fun at the park playground right outside of the museum by the riverwalk..

The kids pretty much had the whole museum to themselves as we went during off-peak hours. We spent about 1-2 hours before lunch and later went back after lunch/nap as the admission allows re-enter on the same day. I would say the most you need is 3 hours.
Of all the children's museums that we've visited, Children's Museum of Houston is the best. I believe they also made to the list of, world's best children's museum.
Ybor City
We took a long route from St. Petersburg to Tampa enroute from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The bridge is a toll road where you pay at the toll plaza $1.25, cash only. It was a nice 45 minutes drive so the kiddos get their nap. Ybor City reminds me of New Orleans except that we don't see many people on the street. Perhaps, wrong timing? It looks like it would be a beautiful street with lights at night.

Food must EAT in Tampa!
--->> Brocato's Sandwich Shop

Devil Crab! It is so delicious with chunks and chunks of crab meats. Too hungry to wait so this is all you get from the picture. It was so good that we had to stopped by again for take-out dinner before our flight and ordered devil crab with their Cuban sandwich. Definitely worth a visit if you like crab as much as we do.

-->> Salt Cracker Fish Camp
Again, this picture doesn't do this delicious dish any justice. Grilled red snapper - off the menu. Ask the server what's their fresh caught fish of the day. This red snapper was so delicious and fresh. The downside though, the wait time is long and I believed it took more than 30 minutes for our fishes to be cooked. Don't order anything else from the menu except for the fish because the food from menu wasn't good.

This concluded our short trip. Tampa is a very nice City surrounded by beaches. One birthday invite turns to be a memorable fun travel destination with family. If we had a chance, would love to visit other beaches around. Perhaps, few years down the road when the kids are at the age for roller coaster rides, then we'll be back for the Busch Garden of Tampa! Until then, we will miss Tampa.
It's not always fun, we get our cranky moments too. That is why it is so important to go according to the kids schedule when traveling, especially by air.
Exhausted baby...
