Oh my goodness! It's already the middle of December and 2016 is coming to an end fairly quickly. It will be a super busy month for us.
Winter in Denver!
Initially, we wanted to take the kids to snow tubing. Unfortunately, most of the tubing hills do not open until the weekend before Christmas. The Critterland at the Copper Mountain has awesome activities for the little ones, but sadly we are a week early.
Majority of our time were spent at Vail, Avon, and Beaver Creek area.
Complimentary breakfast with Santa to start the day at Staybridge Suites at Denver International Airport.
Along route 70, we made few stops for sightseeing.
Red Rock Amphitheater -
One of the historical landmark of Idaho Springs Waterwheels -
Nothing spectacular about this place. We had some time to spare so we made a quick stop to check out the waterwheel in person.
Georgetown Loop Railroad
The train ride is about an hour that takes you from Georgetown to Silver Plume. Tickets were sold out for both days we were there.
Vail
Lunch at Annapurna Nepali Indian Restaurant inside Evergreen Lodge. One of our friend went for the Fall foilage and recommended this restaurant to us. The food is good and prices are decent considering a location inside the village.
We did not get to explore the village as much as we would like. The weather was not cooperating as it was snowing practically whole day with icy wet roads.

At the end of the day, our boys' first taste of snow :) Their face expression make everything well worth it. Watch the video below and imagine how awesome the feeling is!
