Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa was our home for 2 nights. We've seen other bloggers say so highly of this hotel so we want to have a taste of it as well. The best part is waking up early in the morning to this stunning view. We were upgraded based on our Hyatt Platinum status.
One of the best attractions of staying at the Park Hyatt is the location of the ski lifts. Basically, you walk to the backyard of your house and the lifts are there. Very convenient for snowboarders and skiers. Daddy took full advantage of this.
The ski and snowboard equipment were rented from Black Tie Skis Rental. They provide free delivery service and in room fitting. No waiting in line and schedule at your own convenience. Once you are done with the equipment, drop it off at the hotel and they will pick it up from there. How cool is that?!
The resort also equipped with couples of spa and Jacuzzi. There are also few fire pits surrounded with chairs for guest to gather and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. Also a fun place for roasting the marshmallows.
There is also an ice skating rink at the center of the Beaver Creek village. Gege's first time ice skating.
The kids love the snow and enjoy with some snow fun.
Overall, in our opinion, this hotel does not worth the price of a single night had we have to pay for it. Our nights worth about $400-$500 per night for a standard room. It could go as high as $1,000 a night for a standard room as it gets closer to Christmas (Do note that the Winter Festival begins on December 17, 2016).
On top of the pricey price tags, there are mandatory resort fees of $50 per night. Not to mention, along with a pretty high parking fees of $50 per night as well.
We booked the resort with Hyatt certificates so the hotel was free and the resort fees was waived for us possibly due to booking with certificate along with our Hyatt status.
Our advice on Parking:
In regards to parking at the Hyatt Beaver Creek, there are few off-site parking lots that you could park your car overnight for a fee that's not as high as the one charges by the hotel. There are two slope sides parking in the Beaver Creek village. It cost $35 over 4 hours (overnight). These parking lots are walking distance from the hotel. For cheaper option, there is the shuttle-service parking lot called, Elk lot, which is immediate to the right of the Beaver Creek village entrance. They have frequent complimentary shuttles and buses that take you to the Beaver Creek village (about 8 minutes ride) centennial station. Park Hyatt is just within walking distance from the shuttles pick-up and drop-off area.
If you are on a budget like we are, Beaver Creek may not be for you. Everything is expensive here and THE most expensive ski lift ticket in the US. For example on Dec 17th, it cost $179! There are other cheaper ski resorts that are as good for family with small children, like the Copper Mountain and Loveland.
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek resort is beautiful and very convenient for family and ski/snowboarding activities, but with a very high price tag. So plan ahead and research if this is something that suit you.
