There are many hotels on Las Vegas strip. Each has its own theme, prices and convenience that meets different demand. We stayed at Signature at MGM Grand (our review), which we think is one of the best hotel for family. We spent nearly 3 full days going from hotels to hotels starting at the Circus Circus and ending at the South strip of the Mandalay Bay.
Circus Circus
One of the oldest casino in Vegas, Circus Circus featuring circus acts and arcade-type games. The circus act shows are free of charge, but seats are very limited especially during the holiday seasons. According to their website, there are multiple shows that run daily starting at 11:00 A.M.
Like father, like son. Both enjoying their time while waiting on the next circus acts.
Encore/Wynn Hotel
These two are probably one of the nicest hotels on the strip in regards to decorations. Walking into these luxury resorts instantly experience a lavish atmosphere apart from other hotels.
The Venetian
This resort pretty much has the same lobby experience like others. However, level 2 of Venetian amazes you with their beautiful grand canal filled with Venetian streetscape. Did you see the 24/7 blue sky? There is also an indoor Venetian gondola ride for the singing gondolier who take you down the canal. Shared Gondola (for four) is $29 per person or private Gondola (two people) for $116.
Aside from the indoor gondola rides, there is also outdoor gondola rides at the Venetian hotel.
The Mirage
Don't miss out the nightly Volcano shows eruptions at the Mirage. The show only starts in the evening in an hour interval. Checkout their time for different days and plan accordingly. People wait on the walk way and usually get pretty crowded by the time the show starts.
New York New York
The hotel fills with New York city theme such as Wallstreet and empire building in the hotel. In front of the hotel is a lake representing the status of Liberty, replica of Ellis Island and other symbolic building in New York. There is a also a replica of Brooklyn bridge.
Excalibur
This hotel is one of the cheaper end of M life hotels. When we checked it was around $30 range (excluding resort fees). The hotel has a castle theme and features the tournament of kings dinner and show with knights fights. There is also an arcade games floor. Be advised that the hotel lobby does have a heavy bad smell granted the nightly price of the hotel, not surprising.
Caesars Palace
This casino hotel is one of the most prestigious hotel in the world. It has Roman empire theme with many statues like Julius Caesar near the entrance. The hotel is grand and filled with many wider space for table games, oriented to attract high rollers.
The elaborated design and crafting in the hotel is fascinating. There is also the Fall of the Atlantis Fountain show that runs hourly at Ceasars Forum Shops, which feature a shopping mall with many high end boutiques.
Paris Las Vegas
As the name suggest, the hotel is themed as city of Paris, France. It includes a replica of the signature Eiffel tower and other symbolic France buildings. It is also one of the station for Vegas monorail.
Bellagio
One of the most elegant resort is the Italy theme. It has the most notable and famed large dancing water fountain show that runs frequently (ranged from every 15 minutes or 1/2 hour depending on day and time) with music and lights. Since the show run pretty frequently and has a large lake, visitors can easily view the show without much crowd as opposed to the Mirage Volcano show.
Inside the hotel, there's a small nice hand-blown glass flowers garden with Christmas decorations. Amid the beautiful scenery, some people only care about the food though..
Mandalay Bay
Located on the South end of the strip is the Mandalay Bay hotel. There is a monorail connecting between Excalibur and this hotel. The iconic of this hotel is the Shark Reef Aquarium. From the entrance to the aquarium is quite a walk so plan accordingly if you are planning to visit. There is an entrance fee of $20 per adult. Fees schedule can be seen here.
