VBS in the Summer for Children

School is out and summer is here; fun for kids, but maybe dreadful for moms! Got to keep those little monsters occupied with things to do. I dread the word, "bored," or "I don't know what to do," then later come messes or holes on the wall. This summer, I did not enroll the boys for any fun activities, mainly due to planned trips in between those activities.

What we did this Summer thus far?  Besides trips, we found a new activity that is fairly cheap to free. I mean, literally free or at minimal cost that is hard to believe. Vacation Bible School (VBS) at churches around our community. VBS is being held at Churches with volunteers ranging from middle school aged kids to adult. The whole idea is to reinforce bible study to children with fun filled activities that is normally a week long for few hours a day. VBS follows a pretty standard curriculum, which I found on this website.

Most VBS accepts kids at Kindergarden age with few from 3 years and up. You'll just have to search online to see which church offers VBS.

This is our first year with VBS and my 4 year old seems to enjoy it and looks forward to it.

Deep Sea Discovery VBS 2017 is one of the curriculum that was used at gege's VBS. There are 5 lessons with 1 for each day.

Day 1 - God Knows Me! God knows Noah’s heart.
Day 2 - God Hears Me! God hears Jonah pray.
Day 3 - God Strengthens Me! Jesus strengthens Peter in the storm.
Day 4 - God Loves Me! Jesus loves the disciples — and everyone!
Day 5 - God Sends Me! God sends Paul to tell His story.

Something to consider for your Summer list of activities.
