Summer 2022 Trip - Green Bay, WI

After a good night sleep in Milwaukee, we drove about 2.5 hours to Green Bay. First destination is Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.

The entrance to this park is free. We came pretty early so it was not crowded. It was slightly chilly in the morning, we went to nature center and spent some times to check out some exhibition.

It was lunch time so we took a break and headed to Plia's Kitchen not too far away. It is a Thailand restaurant. Little did we know that there is peanut in of one of the noodle dish. That specific dish usually does not contains peanut, and lesson learned is we need to always ask. Didi got some stomach ache due to peanut allergy. His alergy symptoms have improved a lot since few years ago.

We went back to the sanctuary to watch the wolf feeding session. It was quite an interesting experience seeing the wild wolfs roaming around looking for the dead rat. It didn't take long for them to find all the foods.

While didi stayed in the car resting with dad, gege and mom went to the floating boardwalk and feed ducks, fishes and squirels. There were also some animals exhibition like birds of prey, raptor and etc around that area. Didi later got slightly better and joined the feeding and stroll.

The main purpose to the Bay Beach area was actually for kids to have fun at the Bay Beach Amusement Park. It is just next to the sanctuary. The opening hours of the amusement park changes depending on the time of the year. Check out here for more details. As the park opens with minimal crowd, the kids have ton of funs on the rides. The ticket price to the rides is actually quite cheap. A lot of rides are 25 or 50 cents for each person/ride, and the most thrilling ride is $1. Wow!!

Didi still wasn't feeling 100% so he rested a little more in the car while gege and mommy having more fun at the amusement park. Didi felt much better after some snack and encouragement. Gege being big brother also join in and carry this big baby around to encourage him to do stuff.

They both went for more rides and we only left when the park closed. Overall, it wasn't too crowded, the weather is chilly but bearable. The rides were very fun and the prices were very reasonable. We highly recommend it.

Zippin Pippin Roller Coaster. This is the kids' first thrilling ride. The first time they were quite nervous, but after that they loved it. We did this ride at least 5 times!

After our dinner at Thong's Authentic Thai Restaurant, we rested at Baymont by Wyndham reserved with Chase reward points, before heading northeast to Cave Point County Park.

We stopped at Uncle Mike's Back Shoppe for some delicious soup and cookies. About 1 hour later, we took a break at Renard's cheese shop. This seems to be a pretty popular place for cheese and snack.

Finally we reached Cave Point County Park. It is beautiful place for picnic. The water is very clear and clean. We saw people having fun and jumping into the water from the cliff. We hiked a little, overall is pretty relaxing.

Our lunch was at Door County Creamery along the Bay Shore Dr. which seem to have a boutique stores and restaurants. There is also a small Sister Bay beach not far from the restaurant. The kids spent couple of hours playing sands and waters.
