Do you know Canada has a new requirement for entry starting March 2016? Heard about eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization)? No? Go checkout the new eTA requirement before too late.
Daddy found out about it the morning before we take off to Seattle. After further reading, luckily it only applies to flight travel. Yup, he had a fantastic morning.
US/Canada border. Yes, we were excited! Too bad we didn't have any fireworks in the car..
It happens to be Canada Independence Day, July 1st, so there were a lot of people hanging out here at the Stanley Park with Canada flag.

Somewhere in the internet claims THE BEST BBQ pork in Vancouver can be found at HK BBQ Master. Can you judge from the picture? Personally I am OK with the ones back home.
There are a lot of hypes on Richmond Night Market. The line was insane. We strategically get with other visitors to gather enough people and money to get into the fast lane. We liked the Jenga competition Gege really enjoyed playing. Not to mention Didi was into their dinosaurs decorations and kept asking to capture pictures. Wait, what night market?

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express at Surrey (15k IHG points) which is about 1 hour east of Vancouver. This helps to reduce the drive the next day. We briefly saw some independence day firework on the way to the hotel.
Day 4 was spent on the road, driving from Vancouver to Valemount (6-7 hours), where we spent the night for stopover. This is what you do on a road trip.

We stopped at Kamloops for lunch. The small city is a popular stopover for trip between Vancouver to Banff. Hungry people chowing down ramen at Tiger Ramen.
We made a detour to Kamloops Lake. The view is beautiful and clear sky. Little did we realized that this perhaps the only clear sky for the rest of our trip.

After several hours of drive, daddy got really good at driving now, we reached Valemount and had our dinner at the Caribou Grill. Pretty good food.

There wasn't much hotel choices so we had to paid about $200 for a night stay at Best Western. By far the most expensive hotel stay for our entire trip. In hindsight, this hotel was not that great. Probably the only cool thing is the pool with slides. The condition and environment of the hotel do not justify the high price, in my personal opinion. Not that we care, but hello, we are still waiting for their promised special Platinum member gift.

As always, boys and dad are having a great time at the pool.
Rested well and begin our journey to the 'most beautiful' places on earth.
