A reminder to those who hold a Zoo Membership, you get discounted or free admission to other zoos within the North America! Don't forget to check your benefits before traveling. As we are member of the Houston Zoo, free admission to Cameron Park Zoo. So, this long weekend trip will consists of Waco & Fort Worth/Dallas.
Saturday - As usual, ate breakfast at home. This time around, I decided to prepare lunch before we leave as finding places to eat while on the road could be time consuming.
We arrived at Cameron Park Zoo around 11:30 so had our homemade lunch inside the zoo.
This zoo is very well structured. Despite the heat, we were able to finished the whole zoo with a lot of man-made shades and tree shades around. There are plenty of animals in this small zoo. And some are pretty amazing. Daddy was really amazed by the paddlefish.

Next stop was the Waco Mammoth National Monument. This is a fairly new National Monument that was designated by Obama in 2015. If you like hearing story or exploring through imagination, then you may like it. For us with small impatience kids, not really. Somewhat disappointing. The picture below perhaps shows the most 'exciting' thing on the entire tour. Good thing though, they were celebrating the Monument's anniversary with discounted admission.
Ended Waco visiting the suspension bridge. Coincidentally, there was a college event and we got to be part of it, sort of. Getting some free Dr. Pepper float, participating rock climbing and stuff.
After short drive around the Baylor University, Fort Worth, here we go!
