We have heard good things about some of the famous resorts at the hill country and the past weekend was a perfect timing for us to check it out as daddy was off on Good Friday. Because we have status with Hyatt so Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa will be it.
The day of our stay, we were also matched from our mlife gold status to World of Hyatt Explorist, which made it even nicer. It always makes the hotel stay extra sweet when you have some sort of status. In our case, we were upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe room with a first-floor grounds access with patio. That comes especially handy with kids coming and going to the pool. We were upgraded to a room nearby the garden and the lazy river; for that, it was an ease to get in and out of our room to most of the activities area.
One surprising note, we were also given 2 adults and 2 kids breakfast (value of $50) by simply requesting for breakfast as their club lounge was not available for use. Hyatt Hill Country resort is probably well-known for its golf club and for us as family with small children, a man-made beach with a lazy river and slide are what make the resort appealing.

Besides its water activities, there are a good number of activities that keep little children occupied throughout the day. Playgrounds, bicycles (including kids balance bike), soccer balls, volley balls, badminton, cornhole boards, crafts, etc. Towards the end of the evening, there are S'more at the fire pit and the hotel plays a movie at the garden lawn with free pop corn.

Overall, I would have to say that Hyatt Hill Country Resort was a great choice for a weekend get-a-way to relax and unwind. The number of activities could be more, but for us, it was just right for my small family. One note to keep in mind, the resort does charge a daily $35 resort fee as well as the standard occupancy tax (~16.75%). In order to have these fees waived, you do need to be a World of Hyatt member and book the hotel stay with points or certificates. Ours was waived because it was a free night rewards stay with 15,000 Hyatt points. Parking is free, so our out of pocket cost for the hotel stay was nearly $0 as we gave tips to the bell man. Can't be more happier than this!
