Summer 2021 Trip: Beaumont, TX & Hot Springs, AR

So, on Friday morning dad went to pick up the rental car. So we packed. The first day was good. We went to a library in Beaumont Texas for Mom and Dad’s meetings. So we read books there. And then we went to the world’s largest fire hydrant and the museum (a.k.a. Dalmatian Hydrant).

Then we went to the Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown museum. But the Spindletop was broken so it was a waste. That’s why you need to plan ahead. Then we lived in a hotel. It was the very first time we went to a hotel when Covid 19 started. And the hotel was in Marshall, Texas. So after we bathed and brushed our teeth we played catch then we jumped on the beds. We slept at ten o'clock and tomorrow was going to be a fun day.

Ok, The next day we went to Arkansas. We went to the city Hot Springs. First we went to another library for Didi's Chinese school. Then we went to Garvan Woodland Gardens. It had lots of fun things to do.

First we just walked around, Then we went to the garden, Then we followed the numbers on the map which led us to the tree house/kids garden. We played there for a long time. After that we went to a cave. The cave had a secret exit. Mom was at the bottom of the cave. Mom found another secret path to go up.

Then we needed to go to the bathroom. After we went we were about to go. Didi wanted to go to the gift shop for some cold dessert. But the gift shop was closed. So we went to the amphitheater. But there was nothing so we went to the car. Then mom gave us some Gatorade. But we wanted it to be cold so we waited. Then we drove to dinner and then to the hotel. The hotel was Hyatt. So we brush our teeth and stuff. Then we played catch again then we fell asleep.

So the next day we were going to Hot Springs national park. And so there were Hot Springs and they were very hot!!!!!!! Since it was a little cold we warmed up by the hot spring. Then we went to a shortcut up the mountain.

Then we came down to eat lunch at The Pho House Vietnamese restaurant. It was pretty good. We ate there twice. Then we went back to Hot springs national park. This time we did the booklet for the badge. It was hard. So we went with our friends and they were doing the booklet too! So we were doing it together. It took a long time. Then we finally finished and took it to the ranger. So we went over it then pledged then we got the badge.

So after that we drove to Tennessee.
