Garner State Park, Texas

Okay, so we’re off to another trip! Our main destination was Big Bend National Park! The first impromptu destination was Garner State Park. It was crazy the first day. We picked a rental car but when we drove only 30 minutes then the car had a bunch of warning signs!
We spoke to the customer service and agreed to drive back to get another car! It was a slightly bigger car and seemed to be a 'more' reliable car. More on that later in another post..
Then it was lunch time so we went to get La Madeleine to eat. We picked up our food and resumed our journey. We waited until noon and then we ate lunch in the car.. After we ate I asked my dad how many more hours or minutes until we reached our hotel. He said it was 4 hours and 50 minutes! First I tried to do my Rubik's cube 20 times but I got tired and I napped in the car for about 30 to 40 minutes. When I woke up I ate some snacks since it was 2:30. Then we saw a Walmart so we went there to go to the restroom. So we kept driving and my mom gave us a trail mix to eat.

We drove about another hour to finally reach the Garner State Park.
The scenery was vey pretty. There were many trees with orange, yellow, brown, red color leaves this time around in mid-late November. The weather was really nice as well around 70 degree Fahrenheit. From the daily-used parking lot, we walked towards the Garner Dam and Picnic Area which seemed to have more beautiful views.
We got rocks and we threw them into the water. Then we went on a hike. Since the park was very big we got lost and just kept throwing rocks and walking. Then we saw the exit sign and then we started to walk back to our car. I found a rock so I went to the big river to wash it. Then I went to join my dad and my brother. There I tried to skip rocks and wash more rocks!
Then me and my brother started to build a dam to block the water. Then we took some pictures on the small little rock island and went back to our car. We saw a trail and walked in it but it was getting dark so we didn’t have time to walk it. Then we drove out of the state park and drove 2 more hours to our hotel.

We stopped at Jitra Thai restaurant to get Thai food at Del Rio and we took it back to eat it at the hotel. After we ate we did our thing like brushing our teeth and showering. Then we went to sleep. So that was our first day of our thanksgiving trip! To be continue on second day.
