Seminole Canyon State Park, Texas

After a good night sleep, the next day we didn’t reach Big Bend but we drove one hour to a state park called Seminole Canyon State park.

We didn’t know where to park so we went around in circles until we parked. When we went into the shop Headquarters we were disappointed because we had to have a guided tour to go down into the canyon and we missed the tour by an hour. They have two guided tours one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The times varied so make sure check their website ahead.

We drove to another daily used parking lot near the gate. First, we kept walking for 0.45 miles to the Railroad Bed Crossing (3), then we continued on the Canyon Rim Trail for 1.26 miles. We saw a lot of cactuses! We saw the Bridge To the Past (4), which was a tiny short bridge.

We got tired and kept whining but at the end we got to the destination, Presa Canyon Overlook (5)! But, there wasn’t anything! The water were all dried up and we were not allowed to throw rocks. Thumbs down!

But there, we figured out we could echo so we kept shouting things and then we went back. Me and my dad kept asking math questions and in no time we were back to the parking lot. We went to a picnic area and mom used her favorite portable gas stove to heat up water for our instant noodles with vegetables. Yum yum while enjoying the view!

Then we got in the car and drove to Alpine, TX. It was about 4 hours but we went to Marfa, TX first. At Marfa, we walked around the beautiful Presidio County Courthouse and took some pictures at the sign and we took pictures by the fountain too inside the Hotel Paisano.

Then we went back to our car and ordered our dinner which was Pizza Hut and we ate and drank: Sprite, pizza, Chex mix, goldfish and pasta. Then we went to our hotel room and we brushed our teeth and showered. Then me and my brother played catch and then we went to sleep.
