Few weeks ago gege asked me to take him to the children's museum and coincidentally, a friend told me to go to the library to check out Flip kits and return a survey for a free family admission pass to the children's museum. Thanks to a friend who share her experience on FLIP kits, we made a trip to the Houston Public Library just for that.
What is FLIP kits? FLIP stands for Family Literacy Involvement Program. Great activities kit for ages birth to 8 years old. You can find the details here. Be advised only the Houston Public Library carries them and they are different from the Harris County Public Library.
The kit comes in a yellow mesh bag and you can find them on a stand at the Children's area of the library. Each kit comes with a book related to the topics checked out along with activities.
Inside the kit, there is a survey sheet, fill it out, return it, and get a pass to the Children's museum for a family of four.
Overly excited boys with their own pass. Each survey comes with one pass and we did two for two passes. Nothing beats FREE and knowledge at the same time. Gege has been learning sight words at home so these kits have come in such a great timing for us.
The museum pass does show expired on 3/31/2017. Not sure if it's the end of the FLIP Program or the end to the free passes to the museum. So, hurry to the library to check it out while last.
